Having trouble registering for any courses?
Some courses have restrictions that can be overridden simply by contacting the instructor, which you can do by emailing them. If you have difficulty contacting the instructor, then notify David Flanigan at flanigan@fau.edu and indicate which class you want to enroll in and he can try to contact the instructor. Some of the courses which may have FAU restrictions that the instructor will override are:

ART 4934C Honors Intro to Computer Programming for Visual Art: Prof. Annina Ruest, TR 9:30 - 11:40; CRN 24118
The course introduces software as an art medium. This means that the course will combine the “making” of art projects involving computer programming with thinking about algorithmic art and digital culture. Students will learn basic programming concepts that are common to most modern programming languages. Students will also be introduced to different genres such as computer games, net art, software art, and audiovisual performance. This is an introductory class, and previous knowledge of either art or programming is not expected. The course will count for the Humanities B core. There are no prerequisites, however Banner may enforce a prereq of prior Art courses and so if you are unable to register, contact David Flanigan, flanigan@fau.edu, or the instructor, and one of them can permit you.
PHY 4936 Honors Computational Physics: Dr. Yaouen Fily, TR 2-3:20; CRN 24113. Physics gives us equations to predict the evolution of virtually any system. The problem is, there’s usually no way of solving them exactly. They can be always be solved approximately, but it often involves a ridiculously large number of small calculations. That’s where computers come in. This course describes how to break down a physics (or chemistry, biology, engineering, etc) problem into a large number of very simple calculations that can be fed to a computer, and how to make sense of the computer’s answer through data visualization and data analysis. The course will largely consist of mini-projects that will be introduced in class, finished at home, and graded. Students will learn to: Frame scientific questions in a way amenable to computer treatment; Write computer code to answer those questions; Find and use preexisting code when appropriate; Interpret and communicate the results. Class will be adapted to students' background and there are no prerequisites. However Banner lists a prerequisite of COP 2000 so if you are unable to register, contact David Flanigan, flanigan@fau.edu, or the instructor, and one of them can permit you.
PCB 3083/L Intro to Pre-professional Study (MWF 2-2:50pm, 3 credits: CRN 24015) and Lab (tba, 1 credit: CRN 24016), Dr. Leslie Gelb.
This seminar type course involves Medical professional presenting to and interacting with students to introduce them to various medical fields and medical research. The lab involves shadowing a doctor. Sophomors or juniors preferred; instructor permission (ijgelb@health.fau.edu) is required.
PCB 4233 Honors Immunology (MW 12:30-1:50, 3 credits: CRN& 24275), Dr. Christopher Hickey: This is an upper-level Biology course with pre-requisites of Microbiology/Lab and Biochemistry. The Microbiology Lab prereq can be over-ridden by the instructor and other prereqs can be waived on a case-by-case basis.
BSC 4905 Honors CMBB Research Seminar (W 12:30-1:50, 1 credit): FAU's Center for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (CMBB) in Jupiter offers this 1-credit course, which provides undergraduate students an opportunity to experience an important mechanism for information exchange between professional scientists. Distinguished scientists give invited talks in their area of research in the biomedical sciences. While there are no prerequisites, it is recommended that students have taken some upper-level biology or chemistry coursework such as Biochemistry, Genetics or Cell Biology. The course is ungraded (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory) and the instructor is Dr. David Binninger.

Fall 2017: ARH 2000 Honors Art Appreciation (3 credits), meets TR 2-3:20.
Spring 2018: We plan on offering HUM 2020, PHI 2010, and ARH 2000
Math/Science courses for non-science majors in Spring 2018: We plan to offer 2 sections of STA 2023, MGF 1107 Math for Liberal Arts, and CHM 1020C Contemporary Chemical Issues.
Fall 2017 Distribution Electives in Social Sciences/Humanities with no prerequisites
All students must take two distribution electives, one in the Humanities (HUM), one in the Social Sciences (SS). These courses must be taken at the Honors College. These may be Core courses that are not being counted towards a core requirement, or any of the following courses, which have no prerequisites--so long as they are not being counted towards your concentration.

Other Notes
Wait List: The registrar will use an automatic wait list for most courses in the Honors College. If a student registers for a course that is full, they can select a dropdown menu and click "Wait List" to be put on the wait list. Then they will be notified by email when a space opens. The student will have 36 hours to register for the course upon receiving the email; if they do not register in that time, they lose their spot on the wait list, and the next person on the list will be notified by email that they can register for the class within 36 hours. Students are therefore advised to check their FAU Email account at least once a day. Faculty still have the ability to permit a student who absolutely needs a course to register for it without being put on a wait list.
First Class Attendance: Students who do not attend the first class of the semester without prior approval of the instructor should expect to be dropped from that course.
