What is Physical Wellness?
The physical dimension of wellness encourages a balanced approach to all aspects necessary to keep you functioning at a high level. Optimal physical health is achieved not only through physical activity and nutrition but also by developing personal responsibility for your own well-being. This means listening to your body and taking a proactive approach in preventing disease, maintaining sexual health, and understanding the effects of nutrition and alcohol consumption on your body .
As you travel the physical wellness path, you'll strive to spend more time each week engaging in activity and healthy eating. Do not underestimate the connections that lie among all pieces of physical wellness. This dimension of wellness will begin to show you the depth of the mind-body connection and how all of these variables will enhance performance at work, school, and beyond. The physical benefits of looking good and feeling great will benefit you through enhanced self-esteem, self-control, determination and a sense of direction.
