Employment Opportunities Click Here Healthcare is an exciting and dynamic industry and the career possibilities are nearly endless. The industry accounts for about 1/7th of Gross Domestic Product and given demographic trends and technological changes a downturn, with an attendant loss of jobs, is not likely in the foreseeable future.
The field of health care includes not only traditional areas such as hospitals and long-term care facilities, but exciting opportunities exist in consulting, government, practice management, industries such as insurance and pharmaceuticals and evolving health delivery organizations to name a few. In short the health care industry is an industry that needs managers and professionals and a master’s degree gives you an edge for pursuing a challenging and rewarding career.

After a period of consolidation and slow growth in the 1990s, hospitals are now positioned for a resurgence in growth, with new and exciting innovations such as specialty centers for people with diabetes, cancer, and heart disease and other types of “focused factories.” Demand for Managers

Earnings Earnings of medical and health services managers vary by type and size of the facility, as well as by level of responsibility. For example, the Medical Group Management Association reported that median salaries in 2000 for administrators by group practice size were $65,125 in practices with fewer than 7 physicians; $83,022 in practices with 7 to 25 physicians; and $96,402 in practices with more than 26 physicians.
