Nothing defines Florida more than its extensive coastline and abundant waterways. Tourism, fishing and recreation generate billions of dollars for the state each year, fueling Florida's economic engine.

But our vital ocean resources are being threatened by a variety of human activities including over fishing, unsustainable development and pollution resulting in beach closures, harmful algal blooms, and dying marine life.

How You Can Help

Your purchase of a SAVE OUR SEAS specialty license plate supports ocean exploration, water quality studies and a variety of innovative offshore and inshore research programs. Projects include work to monitor and protect shallow and deepwater coral reefs that are essential to maintaining healthy populations of fish and other marine life.

Designed by renowned marine wildlife artist and scientist Guy Harvey, the Save Our Seas license plate is available at your tax collector’s office and online. Or, ask the dealer when you purchase a car, truck, RV or trailer. Your annual $25 tax-deductible donation will help improve the health of our oceans and marine life…now and for generations to come.

How to Get Your Plate

New purchases

In Person
You can get a new Protect Wild Dolphins plate or renew your plate in person at any Florida Tax Collector or tag agency. For office locations click here.

Online
Purchase a new Protect Wild Dolphins plate online. (You will need the PIN number that accompanies your vehicle registration renewal notice or your vehicle tag number to complete this online transaction.) 

By Mail at Renewal Time
To order by mail, download a PDF of the Harbor Branch license plate renewal form and mail it to your tax collector or tag agency with your registration renewal notice.

By Mail Anytime
You can get a new Protect Wild Dolphins plate anytime…you don’t have to wait until your next birthday or renewal time Click here to download a PDF of the license plate replacement form and mail it to your county tax collector.
