How do I get a Harbor Branch specialty license plate?
You can get a new plate in person at your county tax collector's office or tag agency, online at Point and Pay E-payment Services or by mail. To order by mail at renewal time, click here to download a PDF of the Harbor Branch license plate renewal form and mail it to your tax collector or tag agency with your registration renewal notice. How much does it cost?
The Protect Wild Dolphins costs an additional 25 per year ($20 annual tax-deductible donation plus a $5 state processing fee); The Protect Florida Whales, Save Our Seas, and Aquaculture plates each cost an additional $30 per year ($25 annual tax-deductible donation and $5 annual state fee.) In addition to the annual fee, you will pay a one-time plate charge of $28 for your new plate, unless it's time to replace your license plate.
How much of the additional cost of the plate goes to the cause?
One hundred percent of the tax-deductible donation ($20 for the Protect Wild Dolphins plate and $25 for the Protect Florida Whales, Save Our Seas, and Aquaculture) benefits the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution Foundation, Inc., supporting ocean science research through Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at Florida Atlantic University.
When is the best time to get a new plate?
The best time to get a new plate is when you receive your vehicle registration renewal notice in the mail, typically due on your birth date. However, you can get a new plate anytime. You will pay the costs listed above, plus additional processing fees.

The four Harbor Branch plates are currently only available as official Florida license plates for the back of your vehicle. Each plate helps raise awareness of the importance of protecting our precious marine environment to Florida residents and visitors alike.
