Projects
Most of the world’s key fisheries and their natural habitats are being depleted from over fishing and ecosystem degradation. Aquaculture-based fisheries restoration or stock enhancement can help to increase natural populations and improve coastal habitats.
At Harbor Branch we are responding to the growing need for freshwater and marine stock enhancement. Our scientists grow popular salt water sportfish, as well as freshwater snails to stock lakes as food for endangered birds. We are also poised to assist with restoration of coral reefs, mangrove, and marsh habitats.
We invite you to visit our project profiles that will tell you more about our aquaculture and stock enhancement research.
