Message from the Student Government President
Let me begin by congratulating you on your acceptance to FAU. Welcome to our beautiful campus! My name is Peter Amirato, your Student Body President, and I can tell you by choosing FAU you have made one of the best decisions of your life. Over the past few years FAU has grown faster than ever. As a student, becoming a part of new traditions and witnessing changes to our campus will be something you can cherish for the rest of your life.
Whether you are an incoming freshman or are transferring from another institution, your time at FAU will go by faster than you can imagine. In order to maximize your time, I highly encourage you to branch out of the classroom and get involved on campus. With over 300 student organizations/clubs ranging from sports to the arts, religious interests, and social dialogues, there's bound to be at least one that suits your interests. I myself couldn't settle for just one, which is why I've been involved with the Film Club, the Student Alumni Association, the Equestrian Club, Calvary FAU, and even helped to found one of our fraternities on campus. Had I not gotten involved in these organization I can honestly say that my experience at FAU wouldn't have been half as great as it's been and I most certainly wouldn't be where I am today.
Student Government has many exciting events and opportunities planned for this coming year, but it is now up to you to take advantage of them.
I, my staff and the entire Student Government office are here to serve FAU students, so please don't hesitate to come see us on the second floor of the Student Union building and say hello. We would be happy to answer any of your questions or listen to your concerns. I wish you all the best here at Florida Atlantic University and GO OWLS!
