Co-operative Education and Internship Programs |

Co-operative education is a unique educational program in which students integrate classroom study with semester-long periods of paid, supervised work experience related to their academic major. At FAU, co-op is a structured learning situation in which students apply concepts learned in the classroom to real-world work environments.
Internships are defined as career-related experiences that enhance a student's marketability upon graduation. They may be full time or part time. Programs can be structured or unstructured as long as there is training involved in the experience, and they may or may not be for credit and may or may not be paid. Internships are found in every sort of organization.
