The mission of the Department of Campus Recreation is to promote healthy lifestyles through the positive use of unobligated time. This is accomplished by providing activities and services that enhance the overall quality of life. Campus Recreation provides the FAU community with a variety of recreation opportunities throughout the year. |
Campus Recreation Facilities
- Fitness Center has a variety of strength training and cardiovascular equipment which includes free weights, selectorized machine equipment, treadmills and ellipticals.
- FAU Arena is designed for informal recreation use (basketball and volleyball), intramural sports programming, group fitness classes and club sports organization practice.
- Track & Field Complex includes a state-of-the-art synthetic turf field dedicated for student recreation use and eight-lane performance track.
- Aquatic Complex consists of 50-meter and 25-yard pools that have dedicated recreational swim hours each day.
- Outdoor Basketball & Tennis Courts are lighted and available year-round for student recreation use.

Campus Recreation Programs
- Intramural Sports consists of competitive sports leagues, tournaments and special events that take place throughout the year in men's, women's and co-ed divisions. Specific leagues include flag football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball.
- The Sports Club program promotes student participation in a variety of physical, athletic activities and allows students to engage in the activity of their choice at various skill levels. Clubs are open to men and women of all skill levels.
- The Group Fitness program provides you a sense of commitment and control and can help to counteract stress. You can use Group Fitness sessions to control your weight, relax tense muscles, increase the body's production of endorphins (mood boosters), increase self-esteem, and strengthen the heart and lungs. Typical classes include Pilates, Body Sculpting, Cardio Kickboxing, Yoga and a variety of dance aerobics.
- Fitness Center Orientations are available to those individuals who want to learn how to properly use fitness equipment with proper form, combat fitness myths and motivate students to reach their health and fitness goals.

| All facilities and programs are available to students with a valid FAU ID card. Faculty and staff members are eligible to purchase a rec membership for access to facilities and programs.The Department of Campus Recreation is funded by Student Government Association through Activity and Service (A&S) fees which are paid by students with your tuition. |
