Getting Involved

College is a total living and learning experience, incorporating both academics and personal growth. As you will soon discover, academic and personal growth can be enhanced by involvement outside the classroom in student organizations and activities. You chose to attend FAU for many reasons. These might include the quality of academic programs, its location in a metropolitan area or proximity to family and friends. Now that you are here, you will find many opportunities to make your college experience even more fulfilling. No matter what time of day or which day of the week it is, there is something in which you can get involved.

By joining one of FAU's student clubs and organizations, you can make the campus feel like a smaller place. You have the opportunity to make new friends outside the classroom. You can develop leadership, management and interpersonal skills by taking on responsibilities within your student organization. Most of all, you can contribute something worthwhile to yourself and the FAU community by being an active part of it!

Participation in co-curricular activities and events fosters community spirit on campus and enhances the student experience. Activities may include social gatherings, trips, recreation and intramurals, lectures and other fun activities. Students are encouraged to get involved outside of the classroom. The Student Government Program Board plans and implements most of the campus activities. By getting involved with the Program Board, students can have a voice in the campus activity planning.
