Fraternity & Sorority Recruitment at FAU
Membership in a fraternity or sorority is through a mutual selection process, known as recruitment or intake. Participating in recruitment provides an excellent opportunity to meet people and learn more about the Greek community but in no way requires you to join a chapter.
Here is specific information on Recruitment/Intake for Fall 2009:

College Panhellenic – Formal Sorority Recruitment
Formal Recruitment is a week long event that uses a formalized process to select new members each September. At Florida Atlantic University, the 3 Panhellenic sororities participate in Formal Recruitment that is hosted by the College Panhellenic Association on our campus. As a woman who is interested in a sorority, you should look through this information and register to participate in Formal Recruitment HERE
Formal Sorority Recruitment will take place September 13 – September 17, 2009. No events will take place on the weekend, in observance of the Jewish holiday. Formal recruitment gives you the opportunity to meet and really get to know each of the 4 sororities, learn more about sorority life in campus, and make that final decision on which sorority is right for you. By signing up for Recruitment you are not obligated to join a sorority, but will be provided a chance to know much more about all the sororities on campus.
During Formal Recruitment, you will be guided and assisted by sorority women, known as Recruitment Counselors, or Rho Gamma’s, who have disaffiliated from their sorority to assist with Recruitment. The Rho Gamma’s, along with the Panhellenic Executive Board, organize recruitment and are there to guide you throughout the weekend to help and assist you in making the weekend as successful as possible.
After each day, you will be asked to narrow down your choices and the sororities will be narrowing down their choices as well. Panhellenic Recruitment provides for a mutual selection process that benefits both the women and the sororities at the same time. We have an exciting process at Florida Atlantic University and look forward to seeing you throughout the week and working with you.
