| FAU is the hometown University for more than three million residents living in cities large and small along Florida’s southeast coastline. And with more than 100,000 FAU students and alumni living and working here at home, the University is already deeply woven into the fabric of all the communities it serves.
To further enhance these relationships, FAU is taking its mission on the road with a series of “Hometown Tours”. Every month, a member of the FAU leadership team will speak at a local city or county commission meeting within the University’s service area, which stretches from St. Lucie County southward through Broward County.
Organized by FAU’s Government Relations Office, these meetings are intended to underscore the University’s four-fold mission to deliver world-class education, conduct important research, serve as a source of knowledge and expertise and prepare others to make a difference in the 21st century.
“As a public university, FAU is closely connected with the people in its service area,” said FAU President Frank T. Brogan’81. “The hometown tours are another way to strengthen the bonds between the University and the greater community. | | 2007 Tour Dates (more to come)
