This section is intended for those international exchange students studying at FAU as degree or non-degree seeking students under the auspices of one of the current exchange or cooperative agreements. This information is not intended for other international students who are applying to FAU outside of an agreement.

The Office of International Programs (OIP) would like to welcome our incoming and potential exchange/cooperative students. In order to apply under a current agreement interested students must contact the International Office or faculty member managing the agreement at their home institution. Only students nominated by their institutions can apply under the agreements.

Once your home institution has selected you for study at FAU all students must complete either the undergraduate or graduate application (if degree seeking) or non-degree application packet (if not seeking a degree from FAU) and submit it to their home institution. Your institution will forward your application packet on to the Office of International Programs once it is complete and contains all supporting documents.

When the OIP receives your application packet it will be processed with the respective offices. You should check the email address you listed on your application frequently, as that is the way FAU will communicate with you. If any documents are missing or incomplete you will be notified. We will do our best to keep you informed every step of the way, but you should contact Tania Tucker Kraus at trtucker@fau.edu or 561-297-3227 any time if you should have a concern or question.

Please note that it takes time to process an application from the time it is received to the time a J1 or F1 is issued. Applications do not get evaluated until ALL paperwork is in. For example, if you did not turn in your bank letter, your application cannot be processed until it is received. It is important that you do not leave anything blank on your application as this can delay processing. Samples of the application forms are available under forms and can be referred to for help.
