GO GLOBAL GIVE LOCAL Freshman Learning Community (FLC)
Do global issues interest you? Do you like helping others? Do you want to add an international experience to your academic career?
If you answered YES; then this FLC is for YOU! The Go Global Give Local FLC is open to all first-year students from all disciplines, who would like to experience world cultures and get involved with local communities through Study Abroad Programs and Community Service experiences.
Students who take part in the GGGL FLC will take courses that will help them transition from high school to college as well as other courses for their majors. The GGGL FLC is the first part of a four year program designed to create reflective students ready to become leaders in their community and profession while developing skills and expanding their knowledge for a 21st century global environment. Students in the GGGL FLC will receive personalized support and guidance and have many opportunities to participate in forums with international visitors and global themed events. Students will participate in meaningful community service activities as they Give Local and will prepare to Go Global by participating in study abroad. Students who continue in the GGGL program may receive a study abroad scholarship(subject to availability), and will receive guidance in pursuing additional scholarship funding.
