Advising & Appointments

Education Abroad is excited to provide guidance and support from study abroad interest to alumni status.  There are various different options for students depending on where they are at in the process.  Below you will find a helpful guide regarding the group and individual advising services so you can plan your next step!

FIRST STEP: GROUP ADVISING SESSION

Sessions are hosted by Education Abroad for students just starting on their study abroad journey.  Students will learn about program options, eligibility, the application process, scholarships, and next steps.  Once they have completed this first step, they will be ready to apply for a program or meet one-on-one with a study abroad advisor for specific program advising.

HOW TO SIGN-UP FOR A GROUP ADVISING SESSION:

1. Review session dates and times on the calendar below.
2. Log into Starfish Appointments through the Success Network Tab of your MyFAU account.
3. All Group Advising Sessions are listed under Shakerra Bartley in Education Abroad.
4. Search for the session date and time and then sign-up.

LOCATION: All group advising takes place on the Boca Campus in the General Classroom South (GS) building, conference room 214B.

SECOND STEP: BROWSE PROGRAM OPTIONS

Now that you have attended a group advising session, you are ready to browse programs in Via TRM and identify which program(s) may be the best option for you. At this point, you may be ready to apply for a program. However, if you are still uncertain you should meet with a study abroad advisor one-on-one before applying.
