Allison Smith is a New-York based
artist who has created a new installation work in the Schmidt
Center Gallery Public Space intended to resonate with the
Weavings of War exhibition. The project continued
her investigations into the role of traditional craft media in the
construction of national identity and the politics of war.
Smith was included in the 2005 Greater New York exhibition at the
Museum of Modern Art’s P.S.1 contemporary art space, and is
presented in these current/recent exhibitions: Ahistoric Occasion:
Artists Making History at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary
Art, The “F” Word at the Andy Warhol Museum and
Interstate: The American Road Trip at High Desert Test Sites and
Socrates Sculpture Park.
