The Camp Owl Experience 2013
Camp Owls Experience 2012 was a success! Over 100 new FAU students participated in four different trips. Some students went snorkeling and kayaking in the Florida Keys and off of Peanut Island. A group of dedicated students provided community service to the needy in south Miami. Another group of students attended sessions on student leadership in Lake Worth.
With the third year behind us, the staff is already planning for the 2013 Camp Owl Experience. Visit this page in February 2013 to see how you can experience college before you experience FAU .
Here are some of the comments from 2012 participants:
- Thank you! The trip was fun and allowed me to make new friends.
- I went on the Keys Trip and I was in Group 1. I just wanted to take this opportunity to send my deepest appreciation and thanks for organizing such a wonderful trip. Our group leaders, Mike and Ricky were amazing! They were so fun and really informed us about the school and answered every question we had. This trip was filled with so many first time experiences for me, and I will treasure these memories forever. I also made so many friends that will help this transition into college so much easier! Thanks again!
- I liked how laid back it was. I really enjoyed getting to know people on my own terms rather than being forced to meet new people in ice breakers and such.
- It was exciting and a good way of bonding with other incoming freshman.
