FAU Scholarships

The following is a list of general FAU scholarships.  Please click on the application link to fill out the application online (in .pdf format) . IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO READ EACH SCHOLARSHIP CAREFULLY AND MAKE SURE EACH APPLICATION IS COMPLETE BEFORE SUBMITTING IT FOR CONSIDERATION.  If selected to receive any scholarship, applicant will receive an email to his/her FAU email by mid-August .

1. Please use a separate application for every scholarship that you
  are applying for.  Also, attach appropriate documentation for each scholarship.
2. All scholarships listed on this website are awarded through the
  applications available here.
3. Scholarship criteria listed is based on University Policy in conjunction
  with the intent of the individual donor.
4. The academic criteria and the the financial need criteria noted
  in the various scholarship offerings are used as minimum starting points for consideration. These criteria may be applied more rigorously depending upon the size and qualifications of the applicant pool.  Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee selection.
5.

All FAU Scholarships will ONLY be calculated and disbursed for FAU  

  credits. Consortium and Concurrent Enrollment will not be considered when calculating required credits for scholarships.
6. As part of the awarding process, and in recognition of
  donor commitment to the University, applicants selected as recipients of awards will NOT receive funding until a "Thank-You Letter" has been submitted prior to the term in which the award is scheduled to be paid.
7. Financial need is determined by the Free Application for Federal
  Student Aid or "FAFSA".
8. Scholarship awards may impact other sources of financial
  assistance administered by the University.
                        

Students must be able to provide proof of eligibility upon request.    

 

Adam Jay Harris Memorial Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is in memory of a former FAU pre-med student, Adam Jay Harris. Selected recipient will be a full time undergraduate student pursuing a pre-med course of study. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Adelaide R. & Joseph Snyder Scholarship (application)

An award is given to a full-time student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement and financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Albert Allister Endowed Scholarship (application)

This scholarship was established as a result of a matured annuity for Albert Allister. Students must be in good standing with the University. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Angelos Langadas Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is to be awarded to needy students who are making progress with education. Preference is given to students of Greek heritage with demonstrated financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Arthur and Ruth Greenberg Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is awarded to assist students based on demonstrated financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Coca Cola Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is awarded to 1st Bachelor undergraduate students. Applicants must be a US citizen or resident alien enrolled in a degree-seeking program or in a teacher certification program, enrolled at least half-time, demonstrates financial need, and has a 2.5 GPA or higher. Entering freshman students are also eligible. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is May 1st, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Daniel A. & Martha F. Mica Scholarship (application)

The award is given to a student who demonstrates leadership capabilities and financial need. The recipient must be enrolled full time with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

David & Sandy Lowe Faculty and Staff Legacy Scholarship (application)

This endowed scholarship will be awarded to a qualified child or grandchild of an FAU current, retired or emeritus faculty and/or staff member. The selected candidate will be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Candidates MUST provide the name of the FAU employee and their relationship to this employee. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Diversity Enhancement Scholarship for Transfers (DEST) ( application )

This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate minority students (American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander). Applicants must be Florida residents preparing to transfer from a Florida community college or state college. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours. Awards may be based solely on merit or based on need and need/merit with demonstrated financial need.  Need based applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all postsecondary credits. Merit or Need/Merit applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all postsecondary credits. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 14th, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Dorothy & Marshall Anderson Scholarship (application)

This scholarship requires students to be in good academic standing and degree seeking with demonstrated financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Eleanor R. Baldwin Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is to support students in the FAU College of Education. The Baldwin scholarship gives preference to undergraduate students who will be enrolled in student teaching in the upcoming academic year with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Graduate students enrolled in the College of Education with a minimum GPA of 3.5 are also eligible. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit with consideration given to scholarship, leadership and leadership potential in the field of education and then for financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Emily & Robert Murdick Scholarship (application)

This award is available to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA who demonstrates financial need. Preference is given to U.S. born African Americans or American Indians. This scholarship is not available to students in the College of Education. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Ernst and Thea Kahn Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is awarded to students that demonstrate financial need. All applicants must have attended a public, private or parochial high school in Palm Beach County. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

FAU Memorial Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is established to recognize students that have passed away during the academic year, to qualify for the scholarship you must be enrolled in the same college as the deceased student. Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Students must demonstrate financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is May 1st, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Grace Fait Asian Woman Education Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is awarded with preference to a female of Asian descent with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and in good standing, must have demonstrated financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Guggenheim Scholarship (application)

Students must be degree seeking and pursuing a graduate degree. Preference will be given to former FAU athletic students pursuing a graduate degree. Priority will be given to former members of the FAU football team. Followed by former members of ALL FAUs women's athletic teams. Additional preference will be given to graduate students seeking a degree in the College of Business. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is May 1st, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Harriett C. Boettcher US Military Scholarship (application)

This fund was established to help support an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits. First preference will be given to US military veterans having served active duty or the child of an active duty member of the US military. Second preference will be given to a child of a fire fight or police officer killed in the line of duty. Please include all pertinent information. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Helen I. Craig Scholarship (application)

The scholarship is funded by the estate of Helen Craig; its purpose is to provide financial aid for students that demonstrate financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Helen O’Leary Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is to support FAU undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Janice and Julian Weiss Scholarship (application)

This scholarship was established to aid students whose life experience or family challenges make higher education opportunities difficult, or students who have unexpected financial needs or unusual circumstances that arise during the year and impact the students education. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Kay S. Lioy/FAU Club Scholarship (application)

The Kay Lioy/ FAU Club Scholarship is given to an FAU employee or his/her spouse or child who is enrolled at least half time, demonstrates financial need and maintains a 2.0 GPA. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Lillian Delmarter Scholarship (application)

This scholarship was established by Lillian Delmarter because she never had the opportunity to complete her formal education; her goal is to help students with the ability to experience the joys of learning. Student must demonstrate financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

McGee Family Scholarship (application)

An award is given to a full-time undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Mildred and Rudy Reis Scholarship (application)

The scholarship requires students to be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.25 GPA. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Milton and Gladys Meisner Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is awarded to students in architecture, ocean engineering or pharmaceutical programs. Recipients must in their junior or senior year and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship may be renewed for one year. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Reid Nix Endowed Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is to support students who have shown leadership potential by obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout via the Boy Scouts of America.

-OR-

“Returning” undergraduate students, 25 years or older, who are returning to college after an absence of two or more years. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Senator Ken Pruitt Scholarship (application)

This scholarship will be awarded to two undergraduate and two graduate students who have extensive leadership accomplishments and have demonstrated commitment to civic duty via participation in student activities. Students must have a 3.0 or higher GPA. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is May 1st, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Student Government Scholarship (application)

This scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate students. You must be enrolled at least half-time, undergrad- 6 credits; graduate- 5 credits; must be seeking a 4 year degree or a graduate degree. Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher; must be a US citizen or permanent resident. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is May 1st, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Thomas F. Fleming Scholarship (application)

The scholarship was established in honor of Thomas F. Fleming Jr., the late founder and chairman of the Foundation Board. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the College of Business or enrolled in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.

Woodford Zimmerman Scholarship (application)

Recipients must be 25 years or older and show financial need. The selected student must be enrolled at least half time either as undergraduate or graduate student. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is June 2nd, 2014 by 5:00pm.
