The English Major
If you love to read or write, then English is a natural major for you.
The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with five areas of concentration: American Literature │ British Literature │ Multicultural Literature and Gender Studies │ Writing and Rhetoric │ World Literature
English majors acquire a broad background in literature taking courses that stress literary history, literary genres, and the achievements of individual authors. Your coursework will strengthen your writing and encourage you to think critically. Writing and critical thinking skills are necessities in almost any field and as a result, FAU’s English major will open up a world of career opportunities.
