Ron Carlson
Ron Carlson is the author of nine books of fiction, including his novel Five Skies, which was published in 2007 by Viking, and selected as an Editors’ Choice by the New York Times. His book on writing short fiction, Ron Carlson Writes a Story, was also published in 2007 by Graywolf. His short stories have appeared in Esquire, Harpers, The New Yorker, and other journals, as well as The Best American Short Stories, The O'Henry Prize Series, The Pushcart Prize Anthology, The Norton Anthology of Short Fiction, and dozens of other anthologies. The story “Keith” was recently made into a film scheduled for release in 2008. He is currently Director of the Graduate Fiction Writing Program at the University of California, Irving.
