Joshua Stewart, College of Education student, was crowned Homecoming King during the Florida Atlantic University vs Marshall game.

The process to become part of the 2019 Homecoming Court consisted of an application, which included a recommendation letter and an essay followed by an in-person interview with the Homecoming Director.  After a few days, Joshua was informed that he made Homecoming Court.  With the help of his Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity brothers, Joshua began his campaign to be crowned king by creating a video that not only promoted himself but Homecoming Week as well.

Joshua is currently an elementary education major in the department of Teaching and Learning.  He expects to graduate during the 2020 spring semester after completing his student teaching.

A quote from Wayne Gretzky, Canadian former professional ice hockey player and former head coach, motivated Joshua during his campaign for Homecoming King. “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.”

Joshua’s family and friends attended the game to show support and their excitement when he was crowned.

Congratulations Joshua!
