BOCA RATON, FL (April 6, 2006) - Florida Atlantic University’s department of history presents author and historian Fredrik Logevall who will lecture on the topic “Is Iraq Vietnam?” The lecture will take place on Thursday, April 20 at 2 p.m. in the Majestic Palm Room of the University Center on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. The event is free and open to the public. (Complimentary parking passes are available at the information booth of the University’s Glades Road entrance.) Logevall is a professor of history at Cornell University in New York. He is one of the country’s leading experts on the Vietnam War, and is the author or editor of several books and articles on the Vietnam conflict, including the prize-winning book, “Choosing War: The Lost Chance for Peace and the Escalation of War in Vietnam.” Logevall is the founding director of the Center for Cold War Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
