Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Music is now offering a Bachelor Of Music Degree With A Concentration In Commercial Music. All students are required to take the standard core requirements of a traditional music major but in addition, are able to choose from a variety of courses that are being offered and will be offered in the future.

Headed by award-winning composer, arranger and producer Michael Zager, recently named the Dorothy F. Schmidt Eminent Scholar in the Performing Arts, the program will include lectures and master classes with nationally and internationally known music and business professionals.

Courses include: Music Production, Composing & Arranging for Television and Radio Commercials, Computer Music Sequencing (Digital Performer & Protools), Audio Engineering for the Musician, Legal Issues for the Musician, Introduction to Music Business, Film Composition, World Music Ensemble, Rock & Funk Ensemble (a commercial music ensemble) and Copyright and Music Publishing. New courses will continually be introduced.
