PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This lecture series will explore and analyze key areas of American policy and consider how the Trump administration is shifting US policy. Using polls and in-depth analysis, Professor Wagner will explore the foundation of each issue and how the actions of the Trump administration have effected the winners and losers. We will consider whether Trump's influence has altered American politics and what the future will likely hold. Professor Wagner will present survey results and media clips within the context of American politics. Combining visuals, data and occasional humor, Professor Wagner will cut through the noise and show where America is going.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Dr. Kevin Wagner received his JD, MA and PhD in Political Science from the University of Florida. He is the former Director of Graduate Studies in Political Science at FAU and currently President of the FAU Faculty Senate and a member of the FAU Board of Trustees. His research and teaching interests include campaigns and elections, as well as media and politics. His work has been published in leading journals and law reviews including American Review of Politics, The Journal of Legislative Studies, The Political Chronicle, and Politics and Policy. He is one of the leading authorities on the effects of technology on politics and has published a book with Rowman and Littlefield Press entitled Rebooting American Politics: The Internet Revolution. His most recent book is Tweeting to Power: The Social Media Revolution in Politics, from Oxford University Press. Dr. Wagner has lectured extensively on American politics and has been cited in many leading newspapers, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, New York Newsday, Dallas Morning News and Miami Herald.  He has been featured on many national television shows, including MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports and NBC’s The Today Show and has appeared as a political analyst for both our local CBS and NBC affiliates.
