Opera as Cinema Part Two:
Three More Filmic Treatments
Giuseppe Albanese
Recipient of the 2000 Excellence in Teaching Award

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Maestro Albanese continues with his highly successful program dealing with opera as cinematic experience that was presented in the Winter of 2016. Here are three more selections: two films by Italian director Franco Zeffirelli and a film by the great French director Jean Pierre Ponnelle.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Giuseppe Albanese attended the University of Vermont and received his degree in history in 1966. In 1989, after five years of intensive study, he developed a dynamic education program entitled, The Joy of Opera. For the past 25 years, he has lectured extensively on numerous operatic subjects and has produced several video documentaries.
