Operatic Love Duets FOR TENOR AND SOPRANO
Robyn Lamp and Edgar Miguel Abréu

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This concert of operatic love duets for tenor and soprano will feature many of opera's most beloved stories and perhaps one or two you have not heard – yet! We will journey through the human themes of love (both mutual and unrequited) jealousy, seduction, and anger, as well as delve into scene synopses and discuss recurring themes within each duet. We will bring to the forefront well-known duets by Puccini, Bizet, and Verdi and visit lesser-known duets by Korngold, Massenet, and Bellini. We might even throw in a dash of Rogers and Hammerstein! You can follow along with provided program notes, which will include translations and synopses for each selection. Explore beloved opera arias as Florida Atlantic University alumni Robyn Marie Lamp and Edgar Miguel Abréu perform this passionate program of Operatic Love Duets. This promises to be a very special, not-to-be-missed afternoon.
