Music embodies a broad spectrum of forms and styles, and by incorporating examples from classical, latin, gypsy, jazz and popular music, Elefant will point out the common aspects as well as defining the unique differences between them.

The Basics — Get answers to all the musical questions you were afraid to ask and too shy to raise your hand about. We will discuss the Five Elements of Music (Melody, Harmony, Rhythm, Form and Texture) using examples from a wide range of musical styles "From Bach to Sinatra."
Tone Painting — Discover how composers used instruments in imaginative ways, creating special effects that portray images and tales. Music to be heard includes the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods.
The Colossal Beethoven — Learn how Beethoven’s music caused such an uproar in the musical establishment. We will examine the revolutionary changes he made in his writing of the Classical Symphony and the depth of expression he achieved in writing his piano concertos.
The Variationw — Enjoy the live performance of a string quartet while learning about the different variation forms such as the Canon, Chaconne, Passacaglia and Theme and Variations.
