Homeland Security: If you're looking for the First Line Of Defense, Look in the Mirror
William Gralnick

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Since 9/11 Americans have heard a great deal about first responders and the efforts of the Department of Homeland Security to protect the U.S. Since that infamous day, we've learned from sad and bad experience that there are three sets of responders. The third is the Federal government, the second is local fire and police, and the first is each citizen. In a fast- paced lecture, the patrons will learn, through anecdotal stories, why they, just like the everyday Israeli citizen, are the key, to bettering the odds in the game of security and safety. The lecture will be prepared in such a way so that attendees will be drawn into experiences to illustrate the points made.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: William Gralnick graduated with honors from Midwood HS and the George Washington University where he earned his earned his BA and MA political science. He holds a certificate in Urban Planning from U. of Pittsburgh and DHL/FAU. For 33 years he was SE Regional Director for the American Jewish Committee. He was former Exec. Aide to the Mayor of Stamford Ct and Deputy Director of Committee on Training and Employment (anti-poverty agency). He was the youngest person to hold that position, and, before that, the youngest person to head the Greater Johnstown Committee. He has been a columnist for USA Today, Anniston Ala. Star, Atlanta Constitution, PB Post and for the past three  years for Boca Raton News Weekly.
