EVENT DESCRIPTION: Itzhak Perlman is probably the greatest and most renowned violinist of our time. He is a superstar throughout the world, a title which few classical musicians have attained. The level of his extraordinary gift of music is rare and self-evident in his virtuosity and interpretation. He has unrivaled command of the violin which is manifested and projected by the ease with which he plays the most difficult compositions. He expresses and communicates classical music and his audiences adore him. This lecture will explore the man, the music, and his life.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Joe Scott holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied Music Theory and Composition. He began his musical career in New York City as an arranger, orchestrator, and conductor for many artists including Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Phyllis Diller, Melissa Manchester, and for various record labels including Columbia records. He has also arranged and scored music for television and radio commercials for Pepsi Cola, Dupont, American Airlines, and Texaco. In 1989, he moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and established his own jazz trio (Joe Scott Trio). He has appeared in concert at Sunfest, Jupiter Jazz Festival, the Norton Gallery, the Flagler Museum Palm Beach Symphony Series, Ocean Grand Hotel Sunday Concert Series, and the Hibel Museum. He has been on the LLS faculty at FAU at both Jupiter and Boca Raton since 2003.
