Great American Songs From the 1930's to the 1950's
A Live Performance with Irwin and Friends
Irwin Gordon

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Some of the greatest songs ever written, from the 30s, 40s and 50s, were made famous by the era's popular singers and musicians. Through live musical performance and narrative, Irwin Gordon and his guests (local musicians) will present their interpretations of this great music. This one-time performance will bring the sounds and innovative arrangements of the songs so familiar to many of us.  Irwin Gordon will sing using jazz, pop and Latin formats. If you enjoyed great performers such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Rosemary Clooney and Ella Fitzgerald,  you will be enchanted by this magical musical evening.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Irwin Gordon’s talent as a “natural singer” was exhibited at an early age when he was invited to a CBS studio school, the Ann Falk Studios. That influence helped him develop musical performance skills. During his formative years, music played an important role. After a successful business career, and with encouragement from family and friends, he returned to being a jazz singer. He has recorded three CD albums and is currently working on a fourth, all with jazz musicians. Irwin Gordon has been a presenter at Lifelong Learning Society programs and he also sings in many venues in Florida and New York.
