News of the Week
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This eight-week series will lead attendees through a weekly roundup of the news. International, national, state and local news will be presented. Each week's topics are determined by the news stories of the day as seen through the eyes of a 30-year journalist. Lectures typically take an in-depth look at a few issues including some light-hearted topics to provide relief from the weighty and serious news items of the day. Examination of and conversations about the issues will be accompanied by audio-visual news clips, charts or other material. Each session will close with a short question and answer period.
