Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
 
 

HC student records are regarded as confidential for all schools receiving funding under programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education in accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. Generally, information pertaining to students’ records shall not be released to a third party without written authorization of the student, judicial order, or a lawfully issued subpoena. Education records are all records an institution maintains regarding a student. An Honors College student who wishes to sign a release form should see the Director of Student Affairs. This release form will only be used within the Honors College
