Scholars Day

What is Scholars Day?

Scholars Day is an invitation-only event for incoming students. Participants will be considered for our highest scholarship awards. To be invited, students must have completed an Honors College application by December 15, 2012. Students who qualify will receive an invitation in the mail by mid-January.

The Top Awards

The Henry Morrison Flagler Scholarship is a full merit scholarship, awarded to incoming freshmen, that provides extraordinary student-leaders with financial freedom to pursue higher education goals and participate in annual enrichment programs. Its value exceeds $72,000 over four years. The George D. Cornell Honors Scholarship: Up to $60,000 over four years. Covers on campus room/board and tuition/fees not covered by Bright Futures, up to $7,500/semester based on Fall/Spring enrollment. For Florida residents.

The IB/AICE Scholarships, worth up to $6,000 per year, renewable up to 4 years, are awarded to incoming freshmen who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced International Certificate in Education (AICE) Diploma.

The Leadership Scholarship, worth up to $6,000 per year, renewable up to 4 years, is awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated outstanding leadership experience.

Scholars Day Schedule

The Scholars Day program includes a writing exercise and a personal interview with the Wilkes Honors College faculty and staff. Throughout the day, faculty, staff, and students will be available to answer any questions you may have about the College and provide information about areas of study, student clubs and organizations, residential life and community activities.
