Symposium for Research and Creative Projects

Friday, April 9, 2004

We need student volunteers to help make the Symposium a success!!!  Honors College students who are not presenting are encouraged to volunteer, with juniors particularly encouraged to help make this a day to remember!

Email:

I would like to volunteer to help with the following (check one or more):

  • Preparations -- organize rooms for presentations, put out signs directing visitors to the appropriate buildings, put up signs directing people to the registration table, rooms for talks, auditorium, etc.  Volunteers needed late Thursday afternoon and/or early Friday morning (7:15 am - 9:00 am).

  • Audio-Visual Support -- set up projectors/computers and other equipment for each talk, assist presenters with AV needs.  Volunteers needed during the morning sessions, roughly 8:30 to 11:30 am.

  • Registration Table -- distribute name tags and programs, answer questions.  Volunteers needed in 1-3 hour blocks between 7:30 am and 2:00 pm.

  • Moderate a session -- introduce speakers and moderate questions.  Volunteers needed for complete sessions, which are expected to run from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

  • Reception -- prepare and put out food and drinks for the reception and/or clean up after the reception.  Volunteers needed from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from about 4:30 to 5:00.

  • Extra hands -- provide assistance by just being there and available to help out with odds and ends as things arise.  One or two people that would be willing to commit to a half day (especially in the morning) would be great.

  • Any of the above

I am available to help the following hours (Friday, unless you specifically designate Thursday).

Thank you for volunteering!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will contact you with the schedule of volunteer activities around Monday, April 5th.
