DUAL ENROLLMENT
 

Please contact the student's High School Guidence Counslor for more information.

To be eligible for participation in the dual enrollment program that allows tuition costs to be paid for by the state, a high school student must:
1. have completed the freshman year of high school;
2. have achieved a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher (based upon an unweighted 4.0 scale);
3. take one of the following tests and score at least:

(i) SAT: Verbal 440; Math 440 (NOT PSAT)
(ii) ACT: Reading 18: English 17; Math 19
(iii) CPT (Accuplacer): 83 Reading Comprehension; 83 Sentence Skills and 72 Elementary Algebra (Note: You may take the CPT at a community college or at FAU's Testing & Evaluation Office (561-297-3160 or http://www.fau.edu/student/testing/ACCUPLACER.htm ) This test should be taken as soon as possible. Results need to be submitted prior to or with registration forms.

4. receive approval of the high school principal or designee
6. If you are from a county other than Bay, Brevard, Broward, Martin, Palm Beach, an articulation agreement will need to be signed by the Superintendant of Schools of your county. You will need to contact us so that we may assist in this process.

Book Vouchers and the county permission form will come from your respective high schools. 

Once a student has been accepted to the Honors Summer Institute, Dual Enrollment forms and directions on how to fill them out will be sent to the student via mail.

Please Note:
*Participating students are exempt from tution and laboratory fees ONLY. 
*The college course you take must satisfy a high school graduation requirement: this will typically be an elective course.
*Students must earn at least a "C" in all college work attempted to remain in the program. 
*Students are responsible for paying the transportation fee and the Photo ID fee.
