In addition to social and recreational activities, students will participate in a number of learning activities in addition to taking a 3-credit college course.
Typical Daily Schedule for 2008
TBA
You might want to note the following:
- Most “school evenings” will be devoted to studying and preparing for classes, but we are likely to have an optional film evening on Tuesdays.
- We will plan for some special event on Friday evenings, such as a minor league baseball game across the street at the Roger Dean Stadium, and, on the last Friday, we will have a closing dinner and dance.
- You will spend two full weekends at the Institute and we will plan for special events and field trips for those four days. One of those will include the Scripps Saturday. We are also likely to have at least one “beach party”, and one kayaking or canoe trip up one of the local rivers. The Honors College works very closely with the Florida parks Chief Biologist and so such a trip is likely to be educational as well as recreational. We are also planning one or two other exciting and educational field trips. These will be posted on our website as soon as they are finalized.
- Please get in touch if you have any questions about the extracurricular events and/or your willingness or ability to participate in them.
