Dr. Steigenga's research focuses on religion
and politics, transnationalism, and migration.
His recent publications include Resurgent
Voices in Latin America: Indigenous Peoples,
Political Mobilization, and Religious Change
(2004) and The Politics of the Spirit:
The Political Implications of Pentecostalized
Religion in Costa Rica and Guatemala (2001).
Dr. Steigenga came to the Honors College
in 1999 from Davidson College, where he
served as an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Political Science.
