Laura Vernon
Associate Professor of Psychology
Ph.D., Clinical Psychology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Dr. Vernon taught at Auburn University before joining the Honors College. She did postdoctoral research in trauma and anxiety disorders, and interned at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Her research examines emotion in the anxiety disorders, including the influence of disgust in spider phobia and of anger, guilt, shame and gratitude following trauma, as well as the role of cognitive and coping processes.
