Transfer Admissions
The Honors College accepts applications from students wishing to transfer from 2-year or 4-year institutions. Admission decisions will be based on
an applicant's qualifications and will be made on a space-available basis. An interview may be required. As a liberal arts and sciences college, the
Honors College offers a variety of academic programs ranging from traditional disciplines like biology and mathematics to interdisciplinary areas such
as Latin American Studies and Law and Society. Students are also able to design their own programs of study in consultation with faculty. For a detailed
discussion of available academic programs as well as graduation requirements, see the section on Academics.
Priority is given for admission and scholarship awards to those applicants who apply early. See the section on How to Apply
for application deadlines and for a detailed description of the process. It is important that applicants send all their transcripts (high school and college) and their
standardized test scores (SAT/ACT) to Florida Atlantic University. All test scores and high school transcripts are optional for applicants with greater than 60 hours of
college-level credit.
The Honors College functions as a real living-learning community, although, it is not required, transfered students with greater than 60 credits have the option
to live on campus, all single Honors College students under the age of 24 are required to live on campus in our residence halls. For more information about Residential
Living see the website section on Campus Life. Here you will also find descriptions of our recreational facilities, our dining hall, etc.
Transfer applicants are welcome to contact faculty members for more detailed information about the areas which they plan to study. Email addresses are available
in the Faculty section of this website.
