Academic Scholarships

All admitted students to the Wilkes Honors College are awarded merit-based scholarships, upon review of the application materials; no separate application is required. Notification letters are mailed in early spring. See the table below for detailed scholarship information. Questions concerning these awards may be directed to the Office of Admissions. George D. Cornell Scholarship Incoming freshman, Florida resident, outstanding record Tuition not covered by Bright Futures, on-campus room and board, up to $7500/semester ($60,000 over 4 years)
Dean's Scholarship National Merit Finalist, National Hispanic Scholar, National Achievement Finalist $7,500 per year
International
Baccalaureate / AICE Scholarship*
Completion of the IB/AICE Diploma Up to $6,000 per year
Leadership Scholarship* Outstanding Leadership Experience Up to $6,000 per year
Latin American
Caribbean Student Scholarship
F1 Student Visa from
a Latin American or Caribbean Nation
Up to $14,000 per year
Out-of-State Academic Scholarship Non-Florida Residency, minimum 3.5 weighted GPA Up to $10,000 per year
Honors Scholarship Admission to the Honors College Up to $6,000 per year
* Students must have a completed application before December 15 to be invited to compete for these scholarships at Scholars Day held in March.

Out-of-State Academic Scholarships

There are a limited number of academic scholarships available to non-Florida residents, which reduce the tuition to near the in-state rate. These scholarships are subject to academic qualifications. Applicants interested in these waivers are strongly encouraged to apply early for admissions; all eligible students are automatically considered.

Need-based Financial Aid

The Wilkes Honors College can assist students in receiving financial aid based on need. For information about all need-based aid, contact Stacey Edens, Financial Aid Coordinator (561-799-8509). In addition to awarding academic scholarships based on merit, the Wilkes Honors College can assist students in receiving additional based on need.
