One new faculty and one visiting faculty will join the Honors College in the Fall of 2007 and one visiting faculty will join the Honors College in Spring 2008:

Kanybek Nur-tegin
Assistant Professor of Economics
Dr. Nur-tegin received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was Visiting Research Assistant Professor of Economics at West Virginia University before joining the Honors College. His research includes work on transition and developing countries and the economic effects of corruption.

Jim McGarrah
Visiting Instructor of Writing (2007-08)
Jim McGarrah received his MFA in Creative Writing at Vermont College, and taught at the University of Southern Indiana before joining the Honors College. He teaches literature, creative writing, and composition. His poems, essays, and stories have appeared in many literary magazines and his first book of poems, Running the Voodoo Down, won a national book prize. Home Again: Essays and Memoirs from Indiana, was published in 2006 and his novel, Going Postal, in 2007. A memoir entitled A Temporary Sort of Peace, which reflect his experiences as a combat Marine in Vietnam, will appear in 2007. Mr. McGarrah also holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in American and Native-American literature.

Matthew Taylor
Visiting Instructor of Anthropology (Spring 2008)
Dr. Taylor received his Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University at Albany, State University of New York and worked at the Texas Archeological Research Lab prior to joining the Honors College. His research involves bioarcheology, dental anthropology, forensic anthropology, and he has special interest in the prehistory of the human condition.
