To promote and integrate scientific research, education, and practical application of sports medicine and exercise science to maintain and enhance physical performance, fitness, health, and quality of life.
Purpose:
The purpose of SEACSM is to support at the regional level, the mission of the American College of Sports Medicine. The following objectives are the focus of SEACSM:
To encourage professional development of members through annual meetings, lecture tours, and special projects.
To nuture academic and professional development of student members through research support, achievement awards, and programming at the annual meeting.
To facilitate delivery of programs and service of the American College of Sports Medicine.
To support collaborative efforts of member institutions, organizations and special interest groups.
To foster collegiality among the membership.
SEACSM Services:
Host a 3-day annual meeting in January or February.
Sponsor a lecture tour of leading exercise professionals.
Develop special projects to promote sports medicine, fitness, and health concepts to the public.
