What: Announcing the formation of a Student Coalition.
Who: I am seeking one or two students from each school in the Southeast region to serve as a contact person for your school (members of SEACSM only, please).
When: The time requirement is minimal (I know how busy students are) and most contact will be through e-mail, along with one meeting (at the SEACSM annual meeting).
Why: As a student in SEACSM, I rarely have contact with students from other schools. In order for me to be able to represent the student body to the best of my ability, I need input from YOU.
If you are interested in being the student contact for your school, please
e-mail me. : amkleinf@uncc.edu
There are now both Student Research Awards given out each year at the regional meeting for both Doctoral level students and Master's/Undergraduate Students. Applicants for the Student Research Award must be enrolled in or have graduated from an institution in the Southeast region, but may not have graduated prior to May 1, 2006. Applicants for the SEACSM Student Research Award must be the principal author on an abstract that has been accepted for presentation at the annual meeting as a free communication.
The award for the first place winner is a plaque and a check for $500.00 sponsored by the SEACSM and ACSM.
There are additional plaques and checks awarded based upon the quality of the submitted projects. Students are encouraged to submit their research projects for review for these awards.
Thanks to all for their generous donations that have made these awards possible!
