I have been busy getting married, moving across the country and then back home again, having 3 beautiful children, and finally receiving my Florida license in 2006. My husband and I opened an “affordable” Private Therapeutic Agency (www.trinityharbor.com). My husband Chris will be attending FAU to study Social Work in the very near future. I hope everyone is doing well and would love to hear more from any of my former classmates. Much Thanks to all the wonderful

Hey I just found out about this social work alumni networking site. Great idea! I recently got into the home health care company and love it. Its a great feeling helping people who need any kind of care at home. My company gets Aides, caregivers, or Nurses for patients who need help.

Most of my business deals with helping seniors. But I want to get involved in helping children with disabilities as well. If anybody has any suggestions on the most effective way to get involved in that please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

Its great to see so many alumni doing well. All the best!

I graduated with my BSW from FAU in 99 and went on to take my Master's from FSU, where I graduated in 2000. FAU did not have the wonderful Masters Program they have now. I received by LCSW in 2004 and have a private practice working with the elderly in the community. I also work for the Veterans Administration and and the Social Work coordinator for the Mental Health Clinic in Sebring, FL.
Fred Brown, BSW (2002) works in my private practice with me and we enjoy the elders we come to know so well in our practice. We urge other social work students to look to working with the geriactric population.

Best regards to the social work department and everyone who made the graduate program into what it is. I had a great cohort / professors, and overall excellent experience with the FAU MSW program. I'm happily married and we have a teenage son. I'm working as Director of Social Services for the Innocence Project of Florida; the only viable innocence project in the state where pro-bono services are provided toward exonerating wrongfully incarcerated people via establishing innocence through conclusive DNA testing.

Well Now most of you know that I teach at FAU, but did you also know that I received ny BSW degree from FAU in 1989. Boy was the department a lot smaller then. FAU has grown and so has the School of Social Work. I'm glad I got my BSW from FAU. Many doors have opened for me because of my time there.

Hi All,
I'm still working in the trenches with the homeless population in PBC. I'm happy to report that I passed the clinical exam and can now move on to another task as an LCSW. I'm job searching and would love to work with children in a prevention type program. Leads are appreciated. All the best to everyone and keep on doing the exceptional work we do as social workers.

Hi Everyone....

I wanted to change my email address since the last update.
Sounds like things are going well!!!
I have been volunteering for the Red Cross at the Boynton Beach shelter for the hurricane Katrina survivors, transported to our area from New Orleans. I am grateful for this opportunity. Its been awesome! I have also just finished training for the state volunteer program (SHINE) Servicing Health Insurance Needs of Elders at the Agency on Aging and Elder Affairs. I also attended a Social Work Oncology Conference a couple weeks ago to network and meet new friends. It was fun. Now I am actively seeking employement!!! I will keep you posted. Take Care.....

Hello All!

It is so nice to have this website and be able to see what my fellow classmates are doing. My very best to each of you.

I am working as a Hospice Social Worker at HospiceCare of Southeast Florida, Inc. I was fortunate enough to be offered a full time position approximately 3 weeks prior to graduation. I love my work. It is very rewarding. Each day is different and the wonderful gifts I receive from my patients and their families make me realize how fortunate I am to be in the position that I am in. I do a lot of clinical work and deal with patients of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds. I have also been doing a lot of conflict mediation with family members as well as crisis counseling.

Needless to say, no two days are the same.
Personally, I am in the process of working through the system so I can eventually obtain my LCSW. I have also begun to diet and exercise so I can get rid of all the doritos, choclate chip cookies and excess junk I lived on while in graduate school.

If anyone would like to contact me, please feel free to do so.

Stay Well All.

Hello fellow classmates! I'm very happily working where I interned my first year, at Center for Family Services, WPB! I work full-time as a therapist for victims of crime and service children and adults. It is exciting to be able to feel like I'm really helping people. This is a wonderful agency in which to work: ongoing staff development and supervision for licensure are in addition to friendly, professional staff. I wish the best to everyone and hope more folks add to this list!

WOW! Great to see my friends here! I've finally left the trenches of child welfare (DCF) and am working as a TBOS therapist with children and adolescents. I've got the ID badge and everything, I'm an actual therapist- ha! I've joined the Young Democrats of Palm Beach County and look foward to getting involved with the politics that make our work so...shall we say challenging. Personally I'm working on balancing my aura and karma through yoga and massages! Good stuff...

My track in school was children and families though my passion has always been for mental illness. Presently, my employment is with a dialysis company where I am a medical social worker and the company's regional social work advisor. I travel alittle bit, work on policy and procedures for the company, and do lots of clinical work with chroniclly ill patients. My skills require grant writing knowledge, supervisory skills, and understanding of mental health diagnosis.

I have been trying unsucessfully since graduation to pursue a Ph.D
