How do Guidance Consultants assist clients?
Our GuidanceResources Unit telephonically assists thousands of callers each week, providing personalized guidance on issues regarding behavioral and emotional health, family, wellness, or other personal matters. Guidance Consultants conduct a holistic consultation and provide access to all the resources that meet the client's needs. What are the primary responsibilities?
- Conducts a comprehensive telephonic clinical intake and assessment.
- Provides crisis stabilization to clients as needed.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of cases within our clinical database.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the product portfolio (including EAP, managed care, and work-life programs).
- Identifies appropriate resources for clients' presenting issues.
- Educates clients about services, eligibility and referral processes with a positive and professional approach.
- Educates network providers regarding ComPsych procedures.
- Demonstrates ComPsych's strong client focus and promise to over-deliver on customer expectations.
The Job Qualifications include:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work highly preferred; Bachelor's degree required
- 1-2 years post-masters experience preferred for Master's level candidates; 5+ years related experience required for Bachelor's level candidates
- Licensure not required
- Superior active listening skills and a demonstrated ability to be empathetic to all client concerns
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Clinical assessment experience in the following areas: mental health, chemical dependency, and crisis stabilization
- Sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in order to resolve client issues effectively
- Experience working with clients in crisis preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Excellent organizational skills, highly self-motivated, and dependable
- Stable work history required
- Intermediate computer skills
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Community Care for Disabled Adults Case Manager
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the psychosocial needs of disabled adults and their families by performing in-home assessments
- Assist clients and their families in formulating a comprehensive, timely and effective care plan by integrating individual needs with the appropriate community resources
- Provide referral services and social counseling to clients and their families requiring services
- Advocate for the disabled adults and their families within the community
- Ensure compliance and function within the local, state, federal governmental regulations and programs
- Establish and maintain cooperative collaborative relationships with the community social service agencies

Qualifications: MSW required; Ph. D. in Social Work or related field optional. Three years minimum experience in the social work field and two years teaching experience required. Some background and knowledge of International and NGO’s related to social work practice a plus. Candidates should demonstrate interest and competence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
CSUN is a Learning Centered University. The successful candidate will be expected to join faculty and staff in a commitment to active learning, to the assessment of learning outcomes, and to multiple pathways that enable students to graduate.
At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States.
Evidence of degree(s) required at time of hire.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and establish admissions for our three-year part-time program
- Perform 9 units of teaching social work classes and other administrative assignments per semester
- Assist Chair and Social Work faculty in developing curricula related to the part-time program
- Communicate effectively in the classroom
- Participate in seeking grants and external funding
- Participate on department and college committees as needed
- Coordinate with Field Education faculty

We are looking to fill the position of Community Education Coordinator/ Multicultural Outreach. Here is the description.
The Multicultural Outreach Coordinator/Community Education Coordinator is a Chapter services generalist whose responsibilities include (but are not limited to) Multicultural Outreach, professional and caregiver education, community outreach and awareness, support group services, law enforcement training and all reporting related to these areas. Provide service through support and education to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and to increase access to support services in English and/or Spanish. Provide all reported data required by the Multicultural Grant.
