New! Bachelor of Public Safety Administration Program

We are happy to announce our new Bachelor of Public Safety Administration program, a first program in the Florida State University System. The program consists of three specializations: law enforcement/corrections, emergency/disaster management, and fire safety. We will add a very current state of the art specialization: cyber security.

Students can complete the program in two options: taking face-to-face courses at Boca Raton and Davie campuses, or taking online courses. In addition to a number of face-to-face courses as scheduled (www.fau.edu/registrar/schedule), students can take the following courses in fall 2011:

  • PAD 3003 Public Management and Administration (Online)
  • PAD 4931 Introduction Public Safety (Online)
  • PAD 4931 Emergency & Disaster Management (Online)
  • CCJ 3024 Criminal Justice Systems (Online)
  • FES 3003 Fire and Emergency Services Public Policy (Online)

Announcement

The School of Public Administration, a nationally ranked school, is pleased to announce that at its May 18, 2011 meeting, the Board of Trustees has approved a new Bachelor of Public Safety Administration (BPSA) program, a unique academic program with the Florida University System. Events subsequent to 9/11 and other major critical social/crime events and natural disasters have brought the public safety of the American people into the forefront of education and research. This new degree program is to meet the need for trained personnel in homeland security, public safety and emergency/disaster response.
