While you are enrolled in the college, you have opportunities to join various clubs and organizations. The purposes of these organizations are to motivate students, form lifelong friendships, and to provide services back to the community.

GoAmerica Institute of Architecture Students

The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) was established in 1956, and since then, AIAS has considerably broadened its scope. AIAS currently represents more than 30,000 students of architecture in more than 155 schools. At most schools with architecture programs, chapters directed by and for students offer local and national programs that compliment the universities' curriculums. The AIAS serves to promote excellence in architectural education, training, and practice, and to foster an appreciation of architecture and related disciplines. As a student's advocate, the AIAS promotes the quality of education.

GoAlpha Phi Sigma

Alpha Phi Sigma is the national honorary society for criminal justice. Membership in Alpha Phi Sigma requires the completion of at least forty credits, with at minimum of four criminal justice courses. An overall GPA of 3.0 and a 3.25GPA in criminal justice courses taken is also required. Membership provides recognition of scholastic achievement, creates opportunities for service to the community and the criminal justice profession and frequently enhances opportunity for future employment by including membership information on a resume. Alpha Phi Sigma also holds an annual convention and job fair in conjunction with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS). which is open to all active members.

GoFAU Criminal Justice Club

The FAU Criminal Justice Club, which meets in conjunction with Alpha Phi Sigma, was founded to bring students together who share an interest in the workings of the criminal justice system. Membership requires a overall GPA of 2.0 (2.5 for officers) and is NOT restricted to criminal justice majors. Our members include students who are considering a career in law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, juvenile justice, as well as careers as attorneys and educators. Still others simply have an interest in these areas and are unsure of their future professional goals.

GoPi Alpha Alpha (Public Administration)

The national honor society for public affairs and administration is Pi Alpha Alpha and it was formed to recognize and promote excellence in the study and practice of public affairs and administration. In order to be inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, you need to complete 21 hours of the MPA and have a 3.7 GPA. An induction ceremony is held each spring semester.

GoAmerican Society of Public Administration

ASPA is the largest society for public administration practitioners and academics. As a member of ASPA, you will receive a one-year subscription to Public Administration Review and PA Times. The ASPA chapter that is associated with FAU is the Gold Coast Chapter, so when you join, make sure you also join our chapter.

GoAcolyte (Social Work)

Acolyte is dedicated furthering academic excellence within the graduate program of the FAU School of Social Work, giving social support to the graduate social work student body, promoting the NASW Code of Ethics by example, increasing the understanding of the Social Work profession as well as promoting a positive image of Social Work as a profession, and providing members with a forum to foster advocacy for social change at university and community levels.

GoPhi Alpha Honor Society (Social Work)

The purposes of Phi Alpha Honor Society are to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

GoFlorida Atlantic Planning Society

FAPS is committed to promoting excellence in planning education, training and practice; to fostering the appreciation of issues that are contained within the planning profession and related disciplines; and to organizing urban and regional planning students to combine their efforts to advance the art and science of urban planning.

GoOther Organizations
