The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) was established in 1956, and since then, AIAS has considerably broadened its scope. AIAS currently represents more than 30,000 students of architecture in more than 155 schools. At most schools with architecture programs, chapters directed by and for students offer local and national programs that compliment the universities' curriculums.
