2004 Club of the Year - Florida Atlantic Planning Society

Broward Student Government has voted Florida Atlantic Planning Society “Club of the Year” for 2003/4. This is the second time in 3 years FAPS has garnered top honors in the university.

2004 Club Of The Year

Congratulations to all of you who helped FAPS win this prestigious award! The outgoing PAPS Board of: President Dawn Teetsel, Vice President Joe Heilman, Secretary Tresa Fitzner and Treasurer Julene Wade will be sorely missed! Their hard work and dedication made this possible.

This year’s level of activity was unprecedented. FAPS members were able to participate in many professional and academic events and make lots of new friends in the process. FAPS is becoming widely recognized at a local, regional and state level. Active membership offers students a hard-to-find opportunity to integrate in the planning community both inside and outside the university.

The goal of increasing student contact with the practicing planning profession will remain a top priority of FAPS, according to Chief of Staff Bill Nemser who will remain at this post for 2004/5 semesters. A student who has been active in FAPS should have plenty of contacts when beginning a career search after graduation. “It’s certainly better than walking in cold when applying for a job!” Nemser points out.

Incoming President Lisa Lorbeck, Treasurer Lisa Wulf, Secretaries Yani Doyle and Brooke Waszak are already planning next year’s events – from the sound of it so far, FAPS will be right in contention for next years award!

Here is a looks at last years events:
