November 3 Wednesday Lecture Series: Follow Up

President Brogan and FAPS President Lisa Lorbeck
President Brogan’s November 3rd lecture attracted a larger cross section of attendees than past Wednesday Lectures. Local government, the School of Public Administration, the curious public, family members and of course plenty of planners were all well represented at the packed event.
President Brogan lectured for an hour (amazingly long with no notes or visual aides) about regional planning and the potential impacts of Scripps research facility on South Florida.
The lecture was dynamic and informative. When questioned about the Scripps site selection -one of the most controversial elements from a planning standpoint- the President replied candidly said he wasn’t sure. What was made clear was that this facility will shape the region and that if managed correctly it can be “a shot of B-12”.

Ace cameraman Andrew Yancey was called in to capture the action on tape

SURP, CUES, alums and the public were all in the audience

President Brogan was quite a draw at the Wednesday Lecture Series
CDSI students and faculty are both are grateful for the President for making time for us. As the university President, former lieutenant governor and educator, he was simply too valuable a resource for us to pass up and his lecture was truly memorable.
FAPS also wishes to thank the FAU Association of Doctoral Students in Public Administration for their co-sponsorship of the very successful event.
