Dan Bauer

I graduated from Fort Lewis College (Durango, CO.) in 1999
with a B.A. in anthropology, minor in biology. My area of interest is social anthropology with a focus on political economy, subsistence strategies, and environmental issues. I am most interested in Central and South America as well as the Southwestern United States. I have done research throughout Mexico including Oaxaca and the Yucatan. I am currently conducting research on tattooing in South Florida for my Master's thesis.

Bryan Rill

My interest in anthropology began with my neighbor as I grew up, Dr. Olsen.
Dr. Olsen is an ethnomusicologist. He always told me of his trips to Brazil, the Amazon, Peru, Indonesia, and Australia. I loved those stories. In college at University of Florida, I started as a nuclear physics major. After two years of calculus I decided I needed a break, so I took an anthropology class. I was hooked, and in 1996 I graduated UF with a degree in anthropology. Four years later I started graduate school here at FAU. My interests lie in psychological anthropology. I am currently working on the relationship between ideology and identity within the techno subculture for my Masters thesis. I am also the President of AGSU, attempting to bring the graduate students together and do some great things while we are here.

Deborrah Pinto
